Some information about Foppolo

Foppolo’s ever-growing tourism offerings are based on the town’s excellent geographic location. In fact, numerous possibilities are offered to tourists: in summer there are numerous hikes, suitable for all types of users, including those to the nearby Monte Toro and Pegherolo, to the Valcervia, Porcile and Dordona passes, where the trenches towards Valtellina can still be seen, but also to the Moro, Foppa and Delle Trote lakes, all of which are abundantly above 2000 meters above sea level. The Foppolo basin is surrounded by Mt. Valgussera (2200 m), Pizzo del Vescovo (2175 m), Pizzo Corno Stella (2621 m), Mt. Toro (2524 m), Mt. Cadelle (2483 m), Mt. Valegino (2415 m), Mt. Arete (2227 m), Mt. Cavallo (2323 m above San Simone), and Mt. Pegherolo (2369 m).

During the winter period Foppolo becomes the most important ski center in the Orobie bergamasche, with a large number of ski slopes. The ski resort is connected, ski-in, ski-out, with the slopes of Carona Carisole, creating an area with 12 lifts serving 26 slopes totaling about 30 km from an elevation of 1635 m to 2200 m at Mt. Valgussera. In Foppolo there is also a cross-country track in the Convento locality with a course of about 3 km. All with a great ski school, Scuola Italiana Sci Alta Valle Brembana (which includes all the resorts in the Brembana Valley), Foppolo Ski School 90, Brembo Extreme Foppolo School, Foppolo Shedschool, and San Simone Ski School. Foppolo also has a snowpark maintained by the ShedSchool boys in the K2 location, served by a new manovia. A few kilometers away are the slopes of San Simone (Valleve), which are part of the Brembo Superski area.
